The scarce first edition of this novel, illustrated throughout by William Ely, and in the publishers original unclipped pictorial dust wrapper.
A collaboration between comic book writer Gaylord Dubois, and stage designer and writer Oskar Lebeck. This was the third of three childrens novels produced by the two men in 1941, the others being Rex, King of the Deep and Stratosphere Jim and His Flying Fortress.
A thrilling adventure following Dave and Alan, young survivors of a shipwreck, stranded on an unchartered island in the Pacific.
With half title removed.
CONDITION
In the publishers original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with bumping to spine head and tail, and rubbing to head of rear joint. Losses of paper at dust wrapper back strip head and tail, with significant chipping and edgewear to wrap perimeters. Closed tears and three small holes to rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Half title removed. Pages lightly age toned, but generally clean and bright.
